Our Pricing Method
The Best Product. The Best Price. No Excuses.
Most brands make you choose. Build something great, or build something affordable — pick one. Thats not how we operate.
At HILO, first we build the best product on the planet from the highest quality materials (no limitations). Then we price it like we actually want you to wear it.
Why Most Apparel Costs What It Costs
Here's what's actually built into the price of a typical pair of shorts from competitor: a logo license fee. A celebrity endorsement deal. A wholesale markup for the retailer selling it. A marketing budget large enough to outspend everyone else on ads.
None of that makes the product better. It just makes it more expensive.
We looked at that model and asked a simple question: what if we just ... didn't do that?
How We Actually Price
We start with the product, not the margin.
Before we ever think about price, we ask: what's the best material we can source for this? The best construction? The best fit, the best durability, the best feel? Zero compromise, full stop. Price comes second — always.
We cut what doesn't serve you.
No middlemen markups. No paying for a logo instead of fabric. We sell direct — no retail markup stacked on top of our cost, no third party taking a cut for doing nothing but standing between you and the product.
We ask one question before setting a price: what price makes this a no brainer?
Not "what can we charge." Not "what will people pay." Just — what's honest. What lets us keep making the best gear on the planet.
We stay lean, on purpose.
We started HILO with two maxed-out credit cards, not a marketing budget. That forced a discipline we've kept even as we've grown: every dollar goes toward making the product better, not toward looking bigger than we are.
Best Product. Best Price. How Does That Not Win?
It's not a slogan. It's the whole model. We think you shouldn't have to choose between quality and value — so we built a company that refuses to make you.
